CHILDHOOD MEMORY
(246 kelime) (2874 kez okundu)
| Again in a live TV program, a childhood friend of mine called me from Izmir. He said that I had this when I was still a child, and that my body used to contract suddenly and I started to tremble. He continued, "We used to say, 'Something's happening to Halil so something will happen somewhere. This used to upset you, and you would be offended. But you had this thing when you were a child; we were aware of it." As my old friend remembered me of these, I tried to remember more details and then it occurred to me that my grandfather had taken me from Istanbul to Trabzon in 1964. There was no electricity in the village at that time, and only my grandfather and grandmother used to live in that house. I slept in an iron bedstead. I suddenly had an electric shock at night and awoke crying. Everybody was awaken, and I told them I had an electric shock. All the children of the village made fun of me. They said, "He came from Istanbul and imagines we have electricity here too." But there was no electricity in the village, gas lamps were being used. Having been made fun of, I never told anyone about it any more.
